Interior Inspiration #3

It's happening! I'm moving out! I've already been working on my new room, tearing down 2 layers of wall paper and 3 layers of paint off one wall, ONE!
I've figured out how I want to decorate my place for the biggest part of my room, but I'm still in need of some more inspiration.

I'm in love with the chairs in the first picture, and found some very similar ones on ebay, but they're still a bit too expensive for me. I hope to have some money left so I can still buy them, because they would go amazing with the rest of the items in my room.
I've ordered a similar lamp to the one in the last two pictures. It is so gorgeous I would just stare at it the entire day. I want to have some rose gold detailing in my room, because it's my favourite metal colour, so this lamp was just perfect.

Answering Some Questions

I just got tagged by the lovely Mathilda over at Mathilda's Beauty & Life to do the Liebster Award.
Thank you for nominating me dear!
I have already done this once, so I'm not going to do it again. But I thought it was a shame not to answer her questions.
For my Liebster Award, click this link and it will open in a new window.

What's your favourite make up brand?
I love to have a variety of make up brands to keep things interesting, but I'm really liking Zoeva, because they have great brushes and make up products and for a very nice price as well. I've been putting the rose gold brush set in and out of my online shopping basket so many times. I don't really need a new set of brushes, but they are so beautiful, so cheap, and such great quality.

What was your first make up product?
Apart from the kids make up, a mascara, I believe it was a clear one from HEMA.

Describe yourself in one word?
Just 'Anne'.

If you were the main character in a movie, which actress would you want to play your role?
Jennifer Lawrence, because I think our personalities are most similar (and she's just my favourite actress)
If I needed to choose on appearance I think Phoebe Tonkin and I look most alike. Which celebrity do you think I look most alike?

What is your favourite make up product?
My favourite make up product changes all the time, but currently it's the Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Isolde.
On which I did a full review which you can check out here.

What single quality do you appreciate most in people?
The ability to take other people out of their comfort zone, without needing to be pushy.

Are you a planner or are you spontaneous?
60% planner, 40% spontaneous

What makes you smile?
The little things in life, my cat and my boyfriend.

Best books you've read recently?
I haven't really read a book recently *slaps wrist*, but no book can beat the Harry Potter series.

What is your favourite store to shop in?
I'm currently really into online shopping, especially on Asos.

Favourite movie?
I recently watched The Great Gatsby with my boyfriend and it has immediately become my favourite movie. If you haven't watched it yet, I really advice you to do so soon. Even if you think you won't like it, because I did, turned out I couldn't be more wrong.

And those were all the questions!
Thank you again Mathilda for tagging me!
I'd love to do post like these more occasionally so feel free to leave me questions in the comments for future posts.
I always think it's nice to get to know the person behind the blog a bit better, don't you?

DIY: Decorating Schoolbooks

Hello lovelies.
Yesterday I've been helping my little sister covering her books. She's going to her first year of secondary school (or high school, depending on where you live) after summer. She's no longer my little babysister anymore. Emotional moment.
Here in the Netherlands children who go to secondary school need to cover their books with paper, which we call "kaften". This way the books are protected from filth and damage.
Even though it is obligatory, it's still fun to do.
In Dutch shops you can buy special paper for this, but normal wrapping paper, or printed paper will work just as well.
This will immediately make your books much prettier to look at, instead of the boring images on the cover. You can also do this to your notebooks, diary or any other book you like.
It is fairly easy and quick to do, but practice makes perfect.

What you'll need:
A book to decorate
Some paper
A pair of scissors
Some tape
Some labels (optional)
A pen (optional)

The first thing you'll need to do is to cut the paper to the right size. Roll the paper roll out a bit and place your book on top open. Leave about 5cm of paper around the book and cut the excess off.

Next up you'll need to cut a triangle shape near the rug of the book like pictured above. Fold it inwards underneath the book.

Hold your book in a 90' decrees angle to make your first fold.

Fold the piece of paper on the right hand side of the book. Make sure the fold is sharp and the book can't move further into the fold. Next up fold the upper and lower part like pictured above. Make sure these folds don't touch the book, leave about 0.5cm.

Now you can fold the top and bottom. When you've made sure all the folds are sharp and in the right place and the book can no longer move within the folds, you can tape. Make sure you don't tape the book, only the paper. This way you can take the paper wrapping off, without damaging the book.

Repeat the same steps on the other side.

Your book should now look like this.

A handy trick is to use the weight of the book to keep the folds down, like shown above.

In the video you could see me taping the corners of the book. This is for extra protection, because the corners rip the fastest, which is prevented with a bit of tape. If you don't travel with your books, you don't need to do this, but if you put your books in your bag a lot, I would advice to do this.
All you need to do is tape the rug by placing a piece of tape around the top and bottom of the rug, shown in the upper picture. For the outer corners you place a piece of tape on the corner creating a triangle shape and fold the excess over and stick it on the inside, like shown in the second picture.

You can also add a label and write the title of the book, or the subject on it. This way you'll still know which book it is.

And then you're done! Your book now looks a lot prettier and much more fun.

Won't this look much nicer standing on your bookshelf?

Will you be decorating your books like this? Let me know in the comments! Hope you'll enjoy doing this.

Serengeti Safari

Giraffe
A while ago my boyfriend and I went to Centerparcs in Germany for a midweek and during our stay we went to Serengeti Park. I took hundreds of photos and really wanted to share some with you, so enjoy!

Impala
Arabian Oryx

This creature almost looks like a unicorn with its horns and its white body glowing in the sunlight. It was breath taking to see it walking through the trees.
Pygmy Goat
There was a little area where you could get out of your car and buy some food for the goats, donkeys and the cutest little pony. Which I of course couldn't refuse.
Shetland Pony
Just look at it. It was so tiny and cute. I love feeding animals.

Fallow Deer
There were also some deer walking around, which I was really excited about, because deer are one of my favourite animals. But sadly, they were to scared to come close to us and we couldn't feed them.

Dromedary Camel
I laughed so hard at these dromedaries. They were walking on the road like two drunk people, very slowly and swinging and swaying, unable to walk straight, having a great time and not noticing the car behind them which wanted to pass them. It was very funny.

Dama Gazelle
I have no idea what this animal is, but it's so cute. I'll ask my boyfriend, because he'll probably know what it's called.

Ankole Longhorn
African Lion
We drove so closely past the lions which made it possible for me to take some amazing pictures of these wonderful creatures. I'd love to go on a real safari someday with a big camera and take beautiful pictures of wildlife. It is one of my many dreams and I could live it a little here.

White Tiger
White tiger, another animal on my long list of favourite animals. I mean, with so many animals on this world, how can you ever choose just one?

African Elephant
This was another area where you could get out of the car, but here you could watch the elephants. One was really close and I took some close up pictures of this mommy elephant and her baby.

Elephants are also on my list of favourite animals, because they are so social and sweet. If anyone ever says animals don't have feelings and emotions, they don't know elephants. I once read a story about an elephant who was raised by humans because it was wounded as a baby. When the elephant was healed and grown up they released her back into the wild. Two years or something later she returned with a baby, because she wanted to show her child to her "adoptive parents". So sweet.

This elephant was trying to grab a sandwich with its trunk, but it was just out of reach. This upset her so she started throwing grass at my boyfriend. (Even though he was not the one who put the sandwich there)

Hellloooooooo!

Mendes Antelope
Don't these horns remind you of Maleficent?

Plains Zebra
And last but not least the zebra's. They were quite curious about our car and came really close to us. Which again resulted in some pretty pictures.

The Safari was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it and got to live a little of my dream. After the safari we went to Monkey World of Serengeti, which will be another blogpost, because I think these are way too much pictures for a blogpost already, but it was hard enough to decrease 300+ photos to only 32.
Serengeti Park is located in Hodenhagen, Germany. There's not only the safari, but there's also a part where they have monkeys where you can walk through their cages, there is a part with water rides and there is a part with normal rides. If you're ever nearby I really suggest to go there, because it's so much fun and nothing I've ever seen before. It is also possible to stay there overnight in the park-resort. For more information, here's the link to their website.
